Collections Supervisor – Hereford

Salary – £31,235 - £39,044 per annum

Hours – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location – Hereford

As a Collections Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of our refuse and recycling collection services. You will ensure that health and safety procedures are followed, environmental impact is minimised, and high service standards are delivered. You’ll play a key role in supporting and developing your team, ensuring operational efficiency across our Hereford depot.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days a week.

What will you be doing?

- Supervising staff across refuse and recycling collection services

- Leading on health and safety compliance, conducting risk assessments and site inspections

- Coordinating daily work through our CMS system (managing staff, vehicles, and holidays)

- Delivering toolbox talks, team briefings and supporting workforce training

- Monitoring vehicle checks, uniform and equipment distribution

- Planning cover for special events and vehicle wash schedules

- Managing absence, disciplinary matters, and contractor control

- Liaising with clients through joint site visits and inspections

- Supporting accident investigations and enforcing SHEQ standards

What are we looking for?

- Proven experience in a supervisory role, ideally in waste, logistics, or similar sectors

- Excellent communication and organisational skills

- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, CMS, Safeguard)

- Safety-conscious with attention to detail

- Clean Driving Licence essential – LGV/CPC an advantage

- Flexible and professional approach with a "can-do" attitude

- Knowledge of transport legislation and local geography beneficial
