Description of what the apprentice will do in their role:

Apprentice upholsterer required for a leading furniture manufacturer. A rare opportunity to join a bespoke family run business producing fine handmade furniture for over 36 years. Do you want to learn how to produce bespoke upholstered furniture and become a skilled trades person.

  • Learn how to upholster bespoke items of contemporary furniture
  • Learn upholstery techniques, which covers the use of traditional skills, combined with the latest techniques which are used in contemporary upholstery manufacturing
  • Lean how to sew upholstery components
  • Learn how to hand cut fabric
  • Learn how to pattern match fabric
  • Work across a number of departments to gain a full understanding of how furniture is made.
  • Learn how to construct furniture frames, such as chair frames, sofa frames
  • Learn a practical trade within a growing industry
  • Become a valued member of a friendly team working in a modern manufacturer

Comprehensive Modern Upholstery Training:

During your Standard Level 2 Modern Upholstery apprenticeship programme you will receive training both off and on the job. You will be trained at the employer within the workplace and also at WEBS Training in Nottingham on a block basis for a week at a time every 10 weeks.

You will learn the underpinning knowledge that runs alongside your practical elements of the training. WEBS Training aim to build on the skills you already have so you reach your full potential both personally and professionally.

Training will be provided in all areas of Modern Upholstery to ensure you can create practical and bespoke furniture using both traditional and modern techniques and materials to produce aesthetically pleasing and fit for purpose products.

If you have already achieved GCSE maths and English at Grade 4/C or above or have equivalent qualification you will be exempt from undertaking Functional Skills, however English and maths support will be provided for all apprentices throughout the length of their programme.

This role offers opportunities to advance to an Advanced Upholsterer at Level 3, along with increased responsibilities.

For over 35 years, Long Eaton Sofas (PF Collections) has supplied some of the most prestigious stores in Europe and have worked with some of the leading interior design studios to produce bespoke upholstered furniture for both domestic and commercial projects.

Schedule:

  • Day shift 39 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday, 6.45am - 17.00pm
