Job Description

The Service & Team:

Working within the children and families services based in the Family Assessment and Support Team, St Austell.

The Role

Targeted Youth Workers / Youth Support Workers work as part of multi-disciplinary team where children, young people and their families need co-ordinated support at times of increased need and difficulty. They carry out holistic assessments with young people aged 13 yrs + (inc family and siblings were appropriate) and devise plans of intervention and undertake direct work. To do this you will be trained to utilise a range of evidence-based approaches including Signs of Safety & Motivational Interviewing and accredited Parenting Programmes. We have excellent training programme and career progression.

Youth Workers establish trusting relationships with young people. We seek candidates who are dedicated to providing exceptional support, fostering resilience, and promoting independence among the youth.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

This position will be subject to a enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

Working Pattern

Monday to Friday 8.45am until 5.15pm - flexible working / compressed hours hours available and sometimes the need to work later in the evening. Hybrid working available with the role. The expectation is for at least 2 days office based.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

This is an opportunity for an experienced worker with a track record of effective intervention with young people. You will evidence your learning and practice and how this has positively impacted on the lives of young people

You will need to hold a JNC qualification or equivalent in Youth and Community work or significant experience of delivering community based of targeted youth work & be willing to work towards gaining the JNC qualification
