We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our growing Finance Department. This role will work alongside the existing Finance Assistants and Management Accountant. We are looking for someone who is keen to develop their current experience and grow within the function. The successful candidate will support the Financial Controller with a range of accounting duties including:
The day-to-day responsibilities will involve:
- Process accounts payable invoices, monitor the AP inbox, and respond to supplier queries
- Record and reconcile customer payments, process refunds, and manage related finance system entries
- Post receipts, payments, and general ledger journals; assist with fixed assets and month-end tasks
- Reconcile supplier ledgers and company bank accounts to ensure accurate financial records
- Support internal teams with billing and payment queries; interpret customer accounts on the billing system
- Assist with expense claim processing, financial audits, and ad-hoc finance duties as required
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English – minimum Grade C / 4 or above
- Previous experience working in a finance-related or transactional role (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, or data entry)
- Previous use of finance systems e.g., Sage, Xero etc
- Basic understanding of financial processes and procedures
- Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team
- Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
- Well-organised and methodical approach to work
