About the role:

Play a key role in keeping our railway safe, connected and informed.

We’re looking for a proactive and organised individual to co-ordinate the systems and engagement activities that underpin safety across East Midlands Railway. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your safety career within a dynamic and vital part of the transport sector.

What you will be doing:

  • Administering and maintaining our Document Management System for all key safety documentation.
  • Managing the delivery of safety engagement programmes across the business, including ELT safety visits and the annual cultural survey.
  • Supporting the Occupational and Operational Standards Managers with the development and continuous improvement of our Safety Management System.
  • Co-ordinating EMR’s interactions with external regulators including the ORR and RSSB.
  • Maintaining key platforms such as SharePoint and the Risk Assessment Hub.
  • Providing administrative support for safety governance and meetings.
  • Assisting with safety investigations and ensuring corrective actions are tracked and completed.
  • Supporting driver license compliance checks and reporting.

Key Skills needed:

  • Experience in a safety leadership support role within a safety-critical environment—rail experience desirable.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent level of experience.
  • Working towards IOSH membership.
  • Strong understanding of safety systems, document control, and industry standards.
  • Excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail.
  • A collaborative and professional communication style.
