The Maternity Practice based Educator midwife will work in collaboration with the Practice Based Educator Lead Midwife for the development, planning, co-ordination and delivery of mandatory and continued professional education programmes for all staff within the maternity unit.

Assessment, planning and delivery of care to women and their families through the antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum period. Ensuring collaboration with the Ward Manager/Team Leader ensuring delivery of high standards of care through an efficient, effective service.

In the role of a practice-based educator midwife, you will collaborate with the Practice Based Lead midwife to foster, develop, and implement a coordinated and systematic approach to practice development and the integration of evidence into practice.

  • Serve as an exemplary figure for both pre and post-registration learners in the Maternity Division.
  • Offer expert advice and instruction in clinical practice as needed.
  • Facilitate and conduct clinical skills and other compulsory training to ensure the division complies with national NHS policies and guidelines.
  • Utilize a high level of personal and professional autonomy, leveraging advanced specialist skills and knowledge.
  • Proactively support practice and educational advancement at the ward/departmental and community levels.
  • Collaborate and partner with the Trust's Learning and Development department and other Directorate/Divisional Education Leads where appropriate.
