We have 4 vacancies for a maintenance team leader which is a vital leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and effectiveness of maintenance operations.

Supervising a team of skilled shift engineers, working a 24/7 rolling pattern, supervising the day to day, hour by hour reactive activities, promoting a culture of safety, and driving continuous improvement in response times and solutions, and contribute significantly to the organisation’s operational success.

This is a hands-on role and your ability to communicate effectively, solve problems, and collaborate with others will be essential in achieving strategic maintenance objectives.

This role not only demands technical expertise but also strong leadership qualities to inspire and motivate your team in delivering high-quality maintenance services.

Work pattern :

4-on (2-days/2-nights – 6.45-7) / 4-off

YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…

  • Ensuring that you and your team are fully informed of the days manufacturing priorities and allocating suitable resources to each breakdown, continually reassessing as the shift progresses, and actively participating in providing practical assistance when necessary
  • Attending tier and planned meetings, and implementing short interval control and line side problem solving activities
  • Carrying out and completing regular audits and inspections during the shift to ensure teams are progressing with issues, along with documenting performance metric and outcomes so they are available in a timely manner
  • Updating the reactive maintenance manager regularly and communicating with operations, safety and technical departments as necessary
  • Identifying skills gaps and training needs for the shift engineers and working with maintenance managers to build real training opportunities
  • Identifying tools, spares and equipment requirements, continually improving the efficiency of the shift teams
  • Working with the proactive team for planning and implementing continuous improvements that actively reduce repeat failures

YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE…

  • Educated in a relevant field (apprenticeship to NHD level or equivalent, or a strong graduate) with relevant practical engineering experience within a production/manufacturing environment and multiple years of people management
  • Able to effectively influence and communicate at all levels
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to think strategically and multitask
  • A strong analytical thinker with planning and decision-making skills
  • Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of the site safety, technical and food manufacturing standards to ensure your team is always complaint
  • A skilled problem solver, and able to escalate when appropriate, communicating actions and mitigation implementation plans clearly
