Financial Reporting Analyst

City: Cheltenham, England
Contract type: Contractor

About the job

We're a law firm that specialises in media, technology and intellectual property. We have around 250 people, based mostly in Cheltenham and London.

The Role

We are looking for a Financial Reporting Analyst to join us on a 12-month basis as a maternity cover.

We need someone who can delve into our Aderant (Practice Management System) database and data warehouse to produce insightful timely, accurate reports that enable our lawyers and managers to make sound business decisions.

We are looking for someone who can bring our data to life - not just through their SQL skills but by bringing their SSRS and PowerBI skills to create impactful visualized reports. You will also act as a data champion - someone who promotes and enables us to record data accurately and effectively.

Based in a small team, you will have exposure to a wide variety of tasks - reporting on client and matter activity, profitability, month-end activities, budgeting and more. You'll often be creating specific bespoke reports on all sorts of financial activity.

As a law firm, embracing innovation is part of who we are (we have won awards for it). In this role you will be assisting on plenty of projects for business improvement and encouraged to bring your ideas on new opportunities to improve our reporting processes and data management.

About you

To succeed you will need a good level of business acumen, understanding the needs of your client base so that you can produce insightful reports for them. Naturally you will have extremely high levels of attention to detail, but you'll also be able to see the bigger picture. We want to use data effectively, not drown in it.

We expect you will have experience working in a similar role in a law firm or other professional services firm but if not, your application will show that you are a data wizard with strong SQL and SSMS knowledge with significant financial reporting experience.

About us

Our culture is unique among law firms - both in what we expect from our people and the way we create value in the industries we serve. We empower our people, expect commitment and excellence, and celebrate when we achieve it.

Our Cheltenham office is conveniently situated close to the town centre and a reasonable distance from the train station. We have bright, modern spacious offices with an on-site subsidised café and parking.

Our values are at the heart of everything that we do and define Wiggin as a workplace: being visionary, authentic, unified, responsible, and excellent across-the-board.

There isn't a typical Wiggin person. We aim to build teams that are diverse in thought, perspective, and experience to provide a more rounded service to our internal and external clients.

We operate a discretionary hybrid working model allowing 2 days per week working from home.

We offer an attractive remuneration package including 25 days holiday (plus additional days off for birthdays and Christmas Eve), private medical insurance, permanent health insurance and more from your first day of employment.
