Role Overview
To support the Ops Manager to provide professional and effective ground maintenance contract support across the BAE Systems estate in Barrow-in-Furness. Lead a small team of grounds maintenance operatives to deliver the grounds maintenance regime.

Role Overview
To support the Ops Manager to provide professional and effective ground maintenance contract support across the BAE Systems estate in Barrow-in-Furness. Lead a small team of grounds maintenance operatives to deliver the grounds maintenance regime.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Responsible for planning and coordinating all grounds maintenance activities to ensure agreed standards are maintained
- Ensuring all tasks are completed safely
- To manage all associated grounds maintenance documentation ensuring that they meet set requirements
- To recognise seasonal requirements and plan activities accordingly for example grass cutting, weed control, leaf clearance
- Complete checks/audits and submit to Ops Manager as required
- Complete monthly reporting for Grounds Maintenance
- To produce a routine plan in advance detailing planned activities for the Ops Manager and stakeholders
- To manage all H&S aspects of grounds maintenance including subcontractor control and to raise near miss and hazards through the EMCOR site procedures
- Control weeds and organise spraying of weeds
- Managing sub-contractors for street sweeping service
- To communicate any shortfalls in service delivery due to weather condition in a timely manner
- Management of reactive ground maintenance jobs raised by the help desk team as requested
- Act upon reasonable requests and instructions from senior management
- Flexible working can be expected to meet site and season requirements
Who You'll Be
- Previous management of grounds maintenance experience is essential
- Full Driving license
- Experience of operating grounds maintenance equipment including checks, servicing and general maintenance
- Previous experience in a front facing customer service industry
- Well organised with the ability to prioritise workloads
- Good IT skills
- Good communication skills in both verbal and written formats
- Must be willing to undertake further training
