Job Summary
Reporting to the Training and Development Manager - UK, the Training Manager for Cargo & Transport will drive the implementation of the training strategy ensuring an effective and practical training system is in place and well maintained for existing and new employees at our Heathrow and Gatwick sites, ensuring both legal and regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibilities
Ability to achieve successful completion of referencing (checkable 5-year employment history) and criminal records check procedures to meet dnata and CAA security regulations, and a satisfactory medical report.

Job Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage effective training strategies that align with dnata's business objectives and regulatory standards.
- Develop, manage, and deliver comprehensive training plans tailored to cargo handling and transport operations.
- Oversee the delivery of training programs across various departments including cargo, transport, and support services.
- Evaluate training needs and develop programs that support both employee development and organisational growth
- Collaborate with departments heads to identify skill gaps and training priorities
- Manage a team of trainers, providing guidance and performance support
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory training requirements (e.g., DfT, CAA, IATA, HSE)
- Monitor training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and development
- Manage and maintain training records, audits, and reporting in line with dnata's quality standards and external regulations
- Required to travel to other dnata UK sites where necessary
- Strong understanding of aviation cargo handling, warehouse operations, and fleet/driver compliance
- Lead and inspire a multi-skilled training team
- Excellent coaching and communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to prioritise tasks and ensure delivery of results within tight deadlines
- Ability to build relationships and network easily, both internally and externally.
- Flexible, proactive mindset with the ability to lead training operations across shifts and locations
- Formal training or instructional qualifications
- Ability to problem solve and adapt in a fast -paced environment
- Strong understanding of technical and functional training requirements.
- Ability to lead digital transformation initiatives
- Full UK/EU Driving Licence
- CIPD Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Education, Aviation Management, or related field
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with LMS platforms and e-learning tools
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a training management role, ideally within aviation, cargo, logistics, transport, or a highly regulated environment
