About the Role
The Natural Capital Specialist will be responsible for giving support across the business with product development and implementation and skills development in sustainability as well as developing partnerships with industry experts. This role will require the ability to work with geo-spatial tools such as maps and mapping tools.
This role requires strong interpersonal communication skills, a friendly attitude and a keen awareness of both agriculture and sustainability/environmental topics.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage customer farm maps to identify natural capital assets and enable soil organic carbon assessments and associated data collection and reporting.
- Identify and develop opportunities within the agricultural value chain to manage Oxbury’s Scope 3 emissions including the ongoing collection of carbon footprints from customers and automation of associated data to contribute to financed emissions calculations.
- Support the Product Team with research material and industry information to develop natural-capital aligned products for farmers and ongoing maintenance of implemented products.
- Support the Credit and Risk teams with research material and industry information to support credit and risk considerations depending on industry and product context.
- Develop and contribute content including marketing materials for the website, brochures, internal newsletters and other documentation to support Oxbury farmers and brand as thought leader in industry.
- Manage the ongoing collection of data across Oxbury to complete the annual operational carbon footprint.
- Assist to develop training material for employees across the Bank on climate and biodiversity and general ESG topics.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of geospatial tools and analysis.
- Demonstrated research in agriculture, climate and/or nature risk.
- Agricultural background.
- Degree attainment.
