City: Worcester, England
Contract type: Full time

Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of creatives? The Department of Art and Design Communication at the University of Worcester is expanding its pool of sessional lecturers and is looking for talented professionals to contribute to our vibrant teaching team.

We’re particularly interested in specialists with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Photography
  • Advertising
  • Motion Graphics
  • Illustration and printmaking
  • Publication Design
  • Packaging and environmental design
  • Media Production
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects)

What to Expect
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a formal interview, which includes delivering a 15-minute teaching session. You’ll step into the role of a lecturer at the Institute of Arts and Humanities and present a session aimed at Level 5 undergraduate students.

Your session should focus on a topic from your area of expertise. We recommend covering one or two key concepts in depth, with a clear structure: introduction, presentation, interactive learning activities, conclusion, and references. Please ensure your Intended Learning Outcomes are realistic for the time limit and that your session is student-centred and engaging.

Following your teaching session, the panel will ask questions related to your presentation and teaching approach.

NB. If you are successful at interview, you will be invited to join a pool of sessional lecturers, and we will contact you if suitable work becomes available. We are not able to guarantee employment as it will be subject to student numbers. The number of hours available might only be a few hours per week.

Informal queries are welcome and should be directed to Ree Han, Head of Department at [email protected]

Please note that this post does not meet the minimum salary requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route. We are therefore unable to consider applicants for this post who will require sponsorship to work in the UK.
