Academics are working with a wonderful specialist school in Newbury who cater towards young people aged 6-19 with social, emotional and mental health struggles. They are looking for a passionate mental wellbeing support assistant to join their team ASAP on a full-time basis. The school are dedicated to engaging the students in their learning and preparing them for life outside of education. A mental wellbeing support assistant would work closely with teachers and students to create a nurturing learning environment.

Key Information For a Mental Wellbeing Support Assistant
- Salary: 85-100 a day depending on experience
- Start date: ASAP
- Hours: Full-time (08:30-15:00 Term-time only)
- Location: Newbury
- Have a genuine passion to support and nurture the wellbeing of young people
- Have previous experience working with children and/or young people (Preferred but not essential)
- Are empathetic and have an ability to connect with all kinds of people
- Achieved a grade C or level 4 GCSE in English and Maths
- Are looking to work in an encouraging and supportive environment
- Supporting students with their learning and helping them to regulate their emotions
- Assisting teachers in lesson planning and delivery
- Delivering specialised interventions to students on a one to one or small group basis
- Working closely with students, parents and teachers to provide the best care possible
- Helping students develop coping strategies and positive behaviours
