Location: Digital Media Centre, Barnsley
Salary: Part 2 salary circa £28,000 (negotiable if recently qualified architect)
Who We Are
Hirst Architects is an emerging architecture practice formed in Barnsley, South Yorkshire over four years ago. We have recently relocated to The Digital Media Centre, an exciting building environment for young creative practitioners. From here we have begun the process of growing our practice.
What We Do
We specialise in designing bespoke residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, delivering thoughtful, client-focused solutions. As we develop the practice, we will be expanding the range of types and scales to cover public, community, competitions and urban design projects.
What We Need Right Now
We are seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant, or recently qualified architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, creative and have a range of digital skills. Under our training you will be become technically proficient and experience work across all RIBA Work Stages. You will be joining a collaborative studio environment where your contribution will be valued and nurtured.
Essential requirements:
• RIBA Part 2 Masters of Architecture (or equivalent/exemption)
• Strong design sensibility and creative thinking
• Confident with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills — written, visual and verbal
• Self-motivated, well organised, and eager to contribute to all aspects of our practice
• An interest in construction technology and detailing
Desirable:
• Experience in UK planning and the Building Regulations
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and SketchUp
• A full UK driving licence
