Design Systems Analyst

Foster + Partners is looking for a Design Systems Analyst to join our renowned Specialist Modelling Group (SMG). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated individual to help shape the future of computational design, geometry control, and advanced modelling within one of the world’s leading architecture studios.

The role:

As a Design Systems Analyst in the SMG, you’ll work closely with design teams to develop, integrate, and champion advanced modelling techniques that support the design, simulation, documentation, and fabrication of complex architectural projects. You’ll also contribute to cutting-edge research in digital tools, fabrication, and data-driven design processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop methodologies for the control of geometry and modelling in architectural projects
• Collaborate with teams at all stages—from concept to construction
• Explore and implement innovative modeling and simulation tools
• Promote and support new digital workflows across project teams
• Liaise with ICT to ensure integrated use of digital systems
• Maintain knowledge of evolving CAD/BIM technologies
• Contribute to a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion in all workstreams

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

• Degree or diploma in a relevant field
• Expertise in areas such as: environmental design, computational design, BIM, animation, or digital fabrication
• Proficiency in tools like Rhino, Revit, Dynamo, Grasshopper, CATIA, Generative Components, Microstation
• Programming skills in Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, VBA, Processing
• Deep understanding of geometry and its role in design, construction, and fabrication workflows
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities

Desirable:

• Experience with OpenGL and web technologies (HTML, CSS, WebGL, JavaScript)
