As an Insights Analyst in the Corporate Affairs team you will be involved in driving data led storytelling that supports our Communications, Industry Relations and Government Relations teams, across multiple geographies including the UK, France, Spain, Italy and the US. You will have a creative mindset, deep diving into our extensive pool of data to find the right data points that tell the right stories, working with the wider team to drive our market prominence, business narrative and reputation within the rail industry and government.

You will be part of the Corporate Affairs team, with a dotted line into the Trainline data organisation which consists of Data Science, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence and Data Product Management. Both the Corporate Affairs and data team sit at the forefront of Trainline’s growth and market position as we work towards our goal of empowering greener travel choices.

The role will initially be a 3 month fixed term contract and we are ideally looking for someone who can start immediately.

As an, Insights Analyst at Trainline, you will…

As a, Insights Analyst in the Corporate Affairs team you will be responsible for:

  • Actively driving ideation on data-led storytelling opportunities based on an in-depth understanding of Trainline’s data and insights
  • Ensuring we have the right data analysis to support key calendar moments and sales moments, including passenger increase numbers, price movements and key routes
  • Maximizing all newsjacking opportunities and supporting the team in identifying and verifying the correct data points
  • Mining data we to identify trends and changes in consumer behaviour and uncover engaging angles

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

  • 2+ years proven experience using analytics to drive business decisions
  • Ability to distil and communicate results of complex analysis clearly
  • Ability to navigate data sets of varying complexity/ambiguity and conduct analysis to derive clear insights and actionable results
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong data visualisation skills using tools like Tableau, Spotfire, Power BI etc.
  • Strong SQL skills required
  • Experience in Python
  • Tech Stack: SQL, Python, R, Tableau, AWS Athena + More!
  • Ideally a creative mind and head for news, helping us to uncover great rail storis to tell across the press, industry and government
