We're looking for someone with solid technical know-how and a proactive mindset to support, maintain and improve our core IT infrastructure. This role is hands-on and varied—suitable for someone who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively, and staying curious about new tech.
What you’ll be doing- Managing and supporting a wide range of systems: from virtualisation and Windows Servers to Active Directory, Group Policy, RBAC, DNS, and PKI infrastructure.
- Administering core business applications including SCCM and Office 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online).
- Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting servers, storage, and associated software across our data centre environments.
- Monitoring infrastructure for performance or availability issues and resolving problems before they impact users.
- Working closely with internal teams to assess, test and roll out new technologies—then helping transition them into steady-state support.
- Responding to incidents logged via the service desk, delivering fixes in line with SLAs and escalating to vendors when needed.
- Supporting project delivery by providing technical input and coordinating with business stakeholders.
- Managing scheduled tasks and contributing to ongoing system improvements.
- Logging, approving and implementing changes using the ITIL change management process.
- Sharing knowledge, supporting team development and acting as a technical role model.
- Keeping your skills up to date through training, vendor engagement, and hands-on learning.
- At least 2 years' experience in a support role within an SLA-driven environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a track record of working on complex IT systems.
- A solid grasp of Microsoft technologies—Active Directory, DNS, RBAC, Group Policy, etc.
- Experience with virtualisation platforms like XenServer, VMware or KVM.
- Hands-on experience with storage and backup solutions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Suite.
- Experience using Office 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint).
- An understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Awareness of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Major Incident).
Nice-to-haves
- Direct experience with VMware, SAN storage or SQL Server.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
- Exposure to Linux environments (Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
- Knowledge of SAFe Agile.
- Basic networking fundamentals.
- A team player who communicates clearly and professionally—whether it’s with colleagues or C-level stakeholders.
- Someone reliable, punctual and calm under pressure.
- A self-starter who can take ownership of tasks and follow through, knowing when to escalate.
- Someone who’s positive, approachable and takes pride in their work.
- Willingness to travel to UK sites and data centres, including outside core hours when required.
