We are delighted to announce a new 16 bed service based in Doncaster that will welcome patients from Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.

The unit with support patients with complex mental health with a focus on rehabilitation, patients may be in the service for up to 12 months and through a multi-professional approach will receive recovery focussed care.

To work as a member of an inpatient Occupational Therapy team providing high quality therapeutic activities, under the direction of the Senior Occupational Therapist, on an individual and group basis for service users with acute mental health needs.

If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].

As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.

To carry out individual therapeutic intervention programmes and feedback relevant information according to agreed assessment framework and treatment aims identified by the Senior Occupational Therapist.
To assist the Senior Occupational Therapist to carry out community based individual assessments.
To work with service users to develop independent living skills and work towards individual recovery and vocational goals in preparation for discharge, as directed.
To carry out agreed Occupational Therapy interventions with patients without direct supervision of senior staff in community locations and patients homes as directed.
To carry out group work and contribute to regular evaluation of groups, in conjunction with patients and multi-disciplinary team and ensure a balanced programme of activities.

To provide accurate, relevant and timely verbal and written information regarding patient progress.
