Role Description

The Sector Leader will oversee the UK&I Sector Lender, Investors and Insurers business, ensuring effective management of the sector P&L and successful delivery of the strategic plan. Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to achieve sustainable, profitable growth, increase market share, and deliver exceptional service within the LII Sector. Lead client development and sales efforts across the sector, collaborating with other units to leverage the full capabilities of the organization. Act as a prominent thought leader and maintain a strong presence in the market.

Role accountabilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the UK&I Sector strategy, in line with the Places strategy, through multi-year plans to accelerate growth, increase net revenue and grow market share within the Sector.
  • Coordinate the allocation of Sector growth objectives by identifying and selecting new clients, and targeting existing clients, within the Sector to deliver growth in revenue, bookings and margin, to meet or exceed planned targets.
  • Personally lead profitable growth with selected priority accounts within the sector.
  • Work collaboratively with other sectors to support their growth through insights, follow on work with developers and owner occupiers of real estate
  • Manage the LII sector pipeline, ensuring client development investment is well-targeted; and keep pipeline data comprehensive and accurate to inform business planning
  • Develop a culture that is client-centric, innovative and people focussed to ensure ongoing client satisfaction, cutting edge solutions and engagement of staff.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a diverse team of business leaders by setting objectives and reviewing performance to ensure the team becomes engaged in the Sector strategy and business plan, and have the necessary skills to deliver it.
  • Be involved in and maintain an overview of the bid process, taking an active role in bid/no-bid decisions where appropriate and maintain an overview of all client proposals to ensure oversight of the Sector pipeline.
  • Proactively manage risks and opportunities with full P&L accountability for the Sector, to minimise risk and maximise value.
  • Manage Sector resources with particular attention to recruitment, retention and the establishment of robust succession plans for all key positions in sector, to maximise opportunity, delivery and profitability.
  • Identify new client, product, service and proposition opportunities within the Sector and take these to market.
  • Translate the global Sector value propositions into the creation of commercially viable regional Sector value propositions which differentiate Arcadis in the market and generate demand within the region.
  • Develop relationships throughout Arcadis UK&I and more globally to foster cooperation and to maximise opportunities to diversify with our selected clients and to move higher up the value chain.
  • Champion client care and key client management to ensure total client satisfaction, proactively working towards strengthening and broadening client relationships, enhancing the value of the Arcadis brand in the market.
  • Defines and executes Sector strategy for a Sector with hundreds of large clients of high complexity (by sector mix and breadth of stakeholders) at Arcadis UK.
  • Defines and executes the Sector strategy for a Sector that delivers hundreds of projects within a year and contributes c. £20m revenue net revenue for Arcadis UK and €15m across Europe.
  • Works very closely with the LII sector Business Director to ensure the development and availability of resources and capability is aligned with the growth strategy; and supports the Business Director in maintaining a good understanding of the market priorities within the business unit.
  • Ensures that the Market to Opportunity and Pursuit to Win processes and governance are effectively applied
  • Manages a breadth of relationships and operates at Board level with clients that contribute c. £20m revenue net revenue for Arcadis UK and €15m across Europe.
  • Personally delivers gross revenue growth of £7.5m per year
  • Leads a multi-disciplined workforce of c.130 Arcadis employees to deliver winning pursuits and service excellence within the Sector.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Lender & Investor / Real Estate market to identify key trends and emerging opportunities, with existing clients and across the sector.
  • Knowledge and experience of Technical Due Diligence, Fund / Investment Monitoring, ESG and general Building Surveying Services.
  • Track record of successful account Director leadership and sales including in the UK Real Estate market
