The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) are recruiting for a pivotal role within our Quality team: Lead Auditor — based in Suffolk.
This is your chance to contribute directly to Sizewell C, a landmark 3.2-gigawatt power station set to provide low-carbon electricity to around 6 million homes for at least 60 years. As Lead Auditor, you will be central to assuring the quality and compliance of our delivery teams and supply chain, helping us meet rigorous project, customer, and legislative standards—including ISO 9001 and ISO 19443.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and lead a risk-based audit schedule across delivery teams and supply chain, ensuring full compliance with CWA and regulatory requirements.
Plan and conduct thorough audits, raise non-conformances, and monitor corrective actions through to resolution.
Provide expert guidance and support to subcontractors and suppliers to meet quality expectations.
Represent CWA Quality at governance forums and supplier meetings, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and proactive assurance.
Mentor junior auditors and collaborate across functions to ensure consistent risk mitigation.
Use audit findings to inform leadership with actionable insights and recommendations, supporting strategic decision-making.
Embrace digital tools to enhance audit efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Competencies & Experience:
Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 (essential); familiarity with ISO 19443 highly desirable.
Proven track record in auditing within high-integrity, regulated projects such as nuclear or major infrastructure.
Strong understanding of quality assurance and control systems, with experience in construction or engineering environments.
Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and driving improvements.
Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail and ability to identify systemic issues.
Proactive, self-motivated, and adept at managing competing priorities.
