Job Description
Due to recent contract growth, exciting opportunities for an experienced warehouse Operations Manager has been created at our operation in Bridgwater, TA6 6TS. This is a key role that will be central to the successful delivery of a contract where Wincanton are providing warehousing and transport services for equipment being delivered in for the construction of Hinkley Point.
Responsible for developing and maintaining the relationship between Wincanton and our strategic customer. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, your key focuses will include a strong safety culture, team engagement and development, delivery of efficiency goals and objectives, coupled with outstanding customer satisfaction.
Successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain security clearance prior to commencing employment, this includes being able to provide a minimum of 3 years consecutive UK employment/education & residential history

- Responsible for the day to day running of the site and managing a team, overseeing contractors and all visitors.
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to all members of the team and be the escalation point for shift manager
- Liaising with stakeholders across the wider business to coordinate the site to deliver on processing volumes
- To lead from the front in delivering excellent service, managing budgetary KPI’s and delivering on contractual commitments
- Working in conjunction with stakeholders and contractual leadership teams to ensure the operation meets the need of the client and their customers
- Ensure all shift activities are completed across the site in line with procedures/SOPs/SSOWs
- Nurture and develop your team
- Responsible for the day-to-day implementation of site policies
- Create and run regular reports throughout the day
- Final liaison for all site issues
- Ability to coach a team
- Warehouse/Distribution experience
- Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
- IT literate – ability to learn new in-house systems
- Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the client’s organisation including executives and c-level
- Experience in managing a team across a fast-paced operation
- Experience of working in an environment with a focus on HSEQ
- NEBOSH advantageous
