An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5 staff nurse to join our team and work within the inpatient Specialist Palliative Care (SPC) service based at Victoria hospice. We are looking for someone who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is able to demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and confidentiality and is familiar to NHS Fife documentation and policies. You will be part of a forward thinking service, delivering and supporting holistic care to the people of Fife with advanced life limiting illness. The ideal candidate must have significant previous experience within a medical/surgical post and have an understanding of the complexities of caring for palliative patients. A requirement to apply for the post is to have completed and competent in syringe driver, venepuncture, cannulation, central line and drain management and catherisation. We are currently a 9 bedded inpatient ward where specialist palliative care is delivered to patients with complex palliative care requirements. This post will meet the needs of the service and will be worked over 3 days/nights and weekends, the candidate can be requested to work in other areas within the health and social care partnership.
