Role Purpose

The Project Support Coordinator is a pivotal role within the Project Management Office, providing administrative, coordination and reporting support to the Programme Manager and project team. This role focuses on maintaining accurate documentation, tracking project milestones and facilitating communication with internal and external stakeholders. The coordinator ensures resource allocation is efficient, supports governance and compliance processes, and contributes to continual process improvement by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting solutions. Through proactive problem-solving and effective task management, the Project Support Coordinator helps ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and to the satisfaction of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

This role offers an excellent opportunity to build your expertise in project management practices, gain experience in resource planning, and support the delivery of high-impact programmes. You will develop critical skills in resource planning, stakeholder management, compliance and process improvement. By working closely with the Programme Manager and project teams, you will gain hands-on experience in project governance, risk management and reporting. With continued learning and demonstrated initiative, you can progress into roles such as Project Manager or Programme Manager. Ongoing mentoring and access to professional development resources will also support your growth. The exposure to cross-functional teams and diverse projects will open pathways to specialisation in resource management, supplier manager or process improvement roles, supporting a well-rounded career trajectory into project management.

Experience

  • Experience in coordinating and managing administrative tasks.
  • Familiarity with project management tools or willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Experience in compiling data and creating reports or dashboards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in preparing reports or minutes.

Education/ Qualifications

  • GCSEs/A Levels or equivalent (required)..

Skills/CapabilityTechnical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant tools.
  • Experience generating reports and tracking metrics to support decision-making.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative and suggest improvements.
