Veterinary Surgeon – Internal Medicine Focus
Join us at Alma Veterinary Hospital in Windsor, where your clinical expertise will be genuinely valued and fully supported.
We’re looking for a veterinary surgeon with a passion for internal medicine to take the lead in this area, while also enjoying the variety of a first-opinion caseload. Basic surgery is part of the role, but will be kept to a minimum unless you have a particular interest and would like to do more.
We’d especially love to hear from vets who hold, are working towards, or would like to work towards a certificate in medicine or advanced practitioner status. This is a full-time position with a 4-day week with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, however we are open to part-time hours for the right candidate.
What we’re looking for:
- A passionate and skilled vet with an internal medicine certificate or a desire to work towards an internal medicine certificate.
- Someone with a real love for medical care, and a genuine interest in diagnostics and treatment.
- Experience performing abdominal ultrasounds (preferred) and assisting with endoscopy (a plus).
- A strong ability to problem-solve and apply your expertise to tackle complex cases.
- A desire to stay up-to-date with the latest medical practices and contribute to a culture of learning.
What we offer:
- High-level 20 min consults focused on patient care, with minimal surgery.
- A supportive and friendly team that genuinely enjoys working together.
- Access to continuous professional development and the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.
- The chance to lead the medical knowledge in the practice and guide your colleagues.
- Opportunity to work alongside other certificate holders, sharing knowledge and expertise.
- Access to in-house ultrasound, direct digital X-rays, scopes, and lab.
- Separate dog and cat wards to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- The ability to keep in-patients in-house for better monitoring and care.
