Job Description: Carbon Accounting Consultant - UK based The Carbon Accounting Consultant , will be responsible for delivering Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon accounting services and own and support for external customers The role will involve working with internal and external stakeholders to scope and deliver tailored carbon reporting services and Regulatory support to clients, to assist clients with their obligations under both government legislation and regulatory frameworks, as well as internally mandated energy and carbon emissions reduction objectives Key tasks will include ownership of customers with erstanding complex carbon reporting requirements, scoping the service provision and delivering against agreed objectives. Workstreams will necessitate familiarity with energy data acquisition, data analysis, carbon accounting, global carbon legislation and frameworks, and presentational skills World Kinect (WK) delivers energy management and sustainability services to commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional customers. With a multinational team of experts and proprietary technology, WK provides customers with comprehensive energy supply solutions to reduce energy spend and increase predictability. We also offer end-to-end sustainability services to meet carbon footprint goals RESPONSIBILITIES: Working closely with the rest of the Carbon Accounting Team, the role holder will be responsible for:
  • Own clients, supporting them with their Carbon Accounting journey through our centralised platform
  • Act as the subjective matter expert and provide support on a wide range of energy and carbon legislative and global reporting requirements, such as SECR, CSRD, UK ETS, CCA’s and CHPQA.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practice in carbon accounting and compliance.
  • Focus on data analytics and management to feed into our client’s carbon accounting strategies and decarbonization projects
  • Support the customer in planning, assembling and validating energy and carbon data for legislative compliance and emissions reporting
  • Preparing and presenting formal performance reporting to clients
  • Carrying out internal auditing of data and compliance and support with assurance activities
  • Supporting Service Delivery and Commercial teams within World Kinect as a Subject Matter Expert
  • Managing delivery of all associated workstreams and customer expectations
  • Advance practical platform knowledge across our carbon accounting solution
  • Working with key stakeholders such as Global Data Management, Product and IT in troubleshooting of challenges and enhancements across the customer journey
PERSON SPECIFICATION (BACKGROUND AND SKILLS):
  • Minimum 5 years of experience of carbon accounting and carbon management
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher, in a relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of global carbon reporting standard and regulatory requirements
  • Solid understanding of carbon accounting methodologies
  • Proven customer-facing experience working with complex carbon concepts
  • Experience in compliance reporting for UK SECR and other UK voluntary schemes
  • Familiarity with other international reporting frameworks such as CDP, GRI, SBTI etc is advantageous
  • Solid numeracy skills, confidence in working with large data sets and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent English and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Confident relationship-builder
  • Excellent client management and project management skills
  • Enjoy speaking with customers, strong social skills
