The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our Manchester, UK team. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow their career in payroll. You’ll be part of a supportive in-house team, making sure our people are paid accurately and on time while keeping everything compliant and running smoothly
This role is based on a hybrid working arrangement - 2 days a week in the office - and will report into the Head of Payroll.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Process Payroll: Accurately run payroll for multiple departments, making sure everything is on time and correct.
- Handle Admin: Take care of all the necessary paperwork and filings, including statutory reporting.
- Supporting the Team: Help with new starters, leavers, and changes to pay. You’ll also answer questions from colleagues and external contacts.
- Fix Issues: Spot and correct any payroll discrepancies by investigating and resolving errors.
- Reporting and Compliance: Prepare reports for management, stay on top of payroll regulations, and make sure we’re always audit-ready.
- Collaborating with Finance: Share the right info to keep financial statements accurate.
- Payroll Know-How: 1-2 years experience processing payroll for multiple departments, with a solid understanding of UK tax legislation and compliance.
- Tech Skills: Proficiency with payroll software (bonus points if you’ve used OpenPeople).
- Eye for Detail: Great at spotting and fixing errors with strong numeracy and reconciliation skills.
- Time Management: Comfortable working to tight deadlines and juggling multiple tasks.
- Team Player: Friendly, collaborative, and ready to support your colleagues.
- Clear Communicator: Confident with both written and verbal communication, able to explain things clearly.
