A highly successful independent retail brand, is looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to join their team in a newly created leadership role. Reporting directly to the board, this position offers a strategic opportunity to drive the brand’s growth across all marketing channels and manage a small but dedicated in-house team as well as external agencies. This is an ideal position for a seasoned marketer with experience in both B2B and B2C verticals, particularly within the retail or FMCG sectors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead contact for the appointed marketing agency, ensuring clear, consistent direction and collaboration to align all output with business priorities, brand values, and commercial goals.
  • Champion the brand across all marketing channels, ensuring all communications reflect the company’s heritage, quality, and values while engaging new audiences.
  • Oversee the execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring they are on-brand, on-brief, and meet clear objectives, particularly for core range and seasonal promotions.
  • Work closely with sales and retail partners to support in-store marketing and promotional activities in supermarkets and independent stockists.
  • Guide the tone, themes, and content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn), ensuring content is engaging, brand-aligned, and current.
  • Oversee e-commerce marketing and website management, collaborating with internal teams and agencies to optimize traffic, conversions, and customer experience.
  • Review marketing performance through analytics and insights, ensuring appropriate actions are taken and presenting key outcomes to senior leadership for decision-making.
  • Lead the creation of messaging for PR, press releases, internal communications, and product launches.
  • Manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring agency spend aligns with results and provides a solid return on investment.
  • Lead and mentor the in-house marketing team, introducing modern marketing practices and ensuring alignment with business goals.


Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in creating and delivering marketing strategies across traditional and digital channels.
  • Experience managing agencies and overseeing full-cycle brand campaigns, particularly in the retail or FMCG sector.
  • Strong storytelling ability and a deep understanding of digital and traditional marketing channels.
  • Skilled in reviewing and enhancing marketing performance and influencing senior leadership decisions.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets effectively and monitor ROI.
