The role:

The Application Support Assistant role sits within a team which supports a variety of applications within the St. James’s Place Production estate. The role forms part of the SJP Business Systems team that is central to the effective application management, maintaining high availability of production systems supporting many business functions, the partnership and clients

The Business Systems team sits alongside other support teams within Technology Operations with the aim to ensure all applications / services within the team’s remit are running smoothly, performant and highly available as we as acting as 2nd / 3rd line support for calls raised by the user community.

What you'll be doing:

  • Answering support calls via our IT Ticketing System (ServiceNow), investigation of user issues and providing solutions
  • Routine maintenance and testing for our IT applications and application hosting environments.
  • Assist the 1st & 2nd Line support teams where appropriate
  • Handle and administer the Application Performance Management and Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) systems.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the applications used within the Application Team.
  • Proactively identify improvements, for efficiency, service delivery and recurring issues logs
  • Work closely with technology operations teams to develop high level understanding of other support areas and functions

Essential Criteria

  • Familiarity with IT Ticketing systems like ServiceNow or JIRA or other
  • An understanding of web based systems
  • Outstanding communication skills including verbal and written English
  • Ability to work flexibly to be able to support the business and system testing when required

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of supporting a 1st or 2nd line IT Team or Function
  • Knowledge or experience using of Salesforce
