As a Junior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst, you will work as part of an agile team to help deliver data-driven solutions to Trafalgar Entertainment, ensuring that the company maximizes the value from its data. This role will give you hands-on experience with the Azure Data Platform, SQL Server, and Power BI, with a strong focus on delivering reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to business users.
Working closely with the Group Data Manager, business stakeholders, and technology teams, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, translating business logic into effective data solutions. While Power BI will be central to your day-to-day work, there is also the opportunity to grow your skills in broader cloud platforms and data tools.
In this role, you will also play a key part in helping drive process improvements, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance the efficiency of teams across the group by leveraging data integrations and system automation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to deliver insights across the business.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting and dashboard requirements, ensuring the delivered solutions meet the business’s needs.
- Provide training and support to business users, empowering them to navigate Power BI dashboards and reports effectively.
- Conduct ad-hoc data analysis based on business requirements and generate actionable insights.
- Assist in troubleshooting and monitoring data integrations between the data warehouse and third-party platforms such as HubSpot, helping to resolve sync issues and ensure data accuracy in CRM reporting.
- Administer licenses and manage access to the Power BI reporting suite, ensuring data security and accessibility for the right stakeholders.
- Support ongoing data reconciliation efforts for new processes, integrations, and system health checks.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure the data collection and storage systems are secure, robust, and compliant with company policies.
- Assist with process improvements, helping teams use data more effectively to enhance operational efficiency.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate is passionate about data, technology, and analytics, with a desire to learn and develop in a role that sits between developers and business users. You should have the ability to bridge technical and non-technical discussions and work collaboratively with both teams to deliver value.
At interview, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong user-facing skills, including running workshops, gathering requirements, and communicating effectively with both business and technical teams.
- Experience gathering end-user reporting and dashboard requirements.
- The ability to build strong relationships within the team and across the business, serving as a point of contact for data solutions.
- Hands-on experience working with Power BI to develop data models, reports, and dashboards for business users.
- Some experience writing SQL queries to interrogate data and perform analysis.
- A basic understanding of business intelligence concepts, data warehousing, and data integration.
- The ability to review, validate, and cleanse data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Confidence in communicating insights and data-driven recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
Preferred but not Essential:
- Experience using Azure Analysis Services Cubes for advanced data modelling.
- Familiarity with SQL for writing and optimizing queries.
