Phoenix Centre, Wordsley DY8 5PY

Annual Salary £19,760.48 – pro rata averaged monthly pay = £1646.71

( Base Salary 12.25 / hour = £17921.75 per annum + holiday pay = £1838.73 per annum)

An annual pay review is undertaken by the Trustees in March of each year

Work Place Pension Scheme – NEST

An excellent opportunity has arisen withing our consistently outstanding special needs Early Years setting for two specialist practitioners. We are looking for passionate experienced individuals with SEN experience to join our dedicated team. Bringing their expertise and dedication to our special need’s preschool. This role is an opportunity to support both staff and young children, ensuring the highest standards of care while fostering a nurturing and therapeutic environment.

The Suitable Candidates Must Have The Following

  • An NVQ level 3 or higher qualification in childcare or equivalent
  • Experience of working in Early Years.
  • Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework alongside the engagement for learning and welfare requirements, ensuring a safe, caring, stimulating environment to enable the social emotional and educational development.
  • Experience of setting up a wide range of activities for all areas of learning, particularly with children with SEN needs, using observations from these activities to assess children’s progress, and plan further activities to support the learning and developmental needs of individual children
  • Good understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection, Health and Safety, Food Safety, Confidentiality and Whistle Blowing.
  • Experience of completing risk assessments, care plans and reporting accidents/incidents


The Phoenix Centre Specialist Pre-school has a duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and to promote British Values and have a good knowledge of the Prevent Duty. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will need to undertake an enhanced criminal records disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) the cost of which will be met by the employer. Provide two satisfactory references prior to their employment.
