An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strategic and systems-focused Group Finance and Systems Manager to join the LSL Group Finance team, based in Newcastle.
This is a pivotal role within Group Finance and the wider business, responsible for leading the optimisation of financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and IT to drive innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence.

- Leading the design and execution of the Group’s finance systems strategy
- Collaborating with Finance and IT teams to implement automation and financial software solutions
- Identifying and delivering improvements to financial processes, systems, and workflows
- Managing finance system access, controls, and audit requirements
- Supporting training and embedding best practices across finance teams
- Leading post-acquisition systems integration and supporting strategic projects
- Driving improvements in reporting cycles and financial control frameworks
- Managing relationships with software suppliers and consultants
- Liaising with external auditors and supporting audit processes
Essential
- Proven experience in developing and managing financial systems
- Strong knowledge of finance-related systems and general ledger platforms
- Demonstrated leadership in systems development and change programmes
- Strong analytical and data reporting skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience in implementing or monitoring financial control frameworks
- Experience in large or corporate organisations
- Finance background through qualification or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with SUN Systems and Alteryx
- Clear and concise communicator across all mediums
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and vice versa
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- High attention to detail and quality, even under pressure
- Collaborative team player with strong relationship-building skills
- Quick to assimilate knowledge and apply critical thinking to problem-solving
