POST: Fundraising Officer
HOURS: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Maternity cover up to one year with view to extension)
SALARY: £24,000 - £28,000 (depending on experience)
LOCATION: The role is primarily based at South Tyrone Hospital, covering the Dungannon, Armagh and Mid-Ulster area. The successful candidate will also be required to work from our Head Office in Newry one day per week which will be reviewed as the role develops. There will be a requirement to attend fundraising events and meetings at various locations across The Southern Area Trust in Counties Armagh, Down and Tyrone

The Fundraising Officer will play a vital part in increasing public awareness and raising income to support Southern Area Hospice.
They will work directly with individuals, groups, and organisations across the Dungannon, Armagh and Mid-Ulster area to build strong local relationships, identify new fundraising opportunities, and develop sustainable income streams to support the growth and future needs of hospice services in the local community. They will also work with the wider Income Generation Team on flagship campaigns and events.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement local fundraising strategies to ensure financial income targets and KPIs are achieved.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, support groups and individuals to encourage ongoing support.
- Organise and support community-led events and initiatives to raise awareness and funds.
- Work closely with the wider team to support campaigns and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of contacts, donations and event outcomes using Donorflex CRM and internal systems.
- Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation and organisational policies.
- Assist your fellow team members with key events and flagship campaigns.
- Work with Supporter Care to cultivate and develop donor relations.
- Be a proactive networker, keeping abreast of changes and new developments within the local fundraising environment.
- Help to develop online and digital fundraising and other new initiatives which will support fundraising.
- Represent Southern Area Hospice professionally all times.
- Act in accordance with Hospice principles regarding relationships with supporters, many of whom may have experienced bereavement.
- Identify and capitalise on new fundraising opportunities in the region to grow our network of community-based volunteers, and to facilitate fundraising events and activities.
- Represent the Hospice at events, cheque presentations, and networking opportunities, and give presentations to a range of audiences using a variety of media platforms.

Essential Criteria
- A degree (or equivalent) plus 1 year’s relevant experience in a fundraising, marketing, event management, PR or sales environment with a preference for B2B or B2C sales rather than retail. OR
- 2 years relevant experience in a fundraising, marketing, event management, PR or sales environment, with a preference for B2B or B2C sales rather than retail.
- Excellent communicator - confident and skilled in all aspects of communication (including social media), to a range of audiences of varying sizes
- Good IT skills – particularly Microsoft Office, Photoshop or other design software
- A flare for creativity, innovation and attention to detail
- Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- Resilient and determined to achieve
- Able to work to deadlines and to prioritise work accordingly
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Confident public speaker and networker.
- Full driving license with eligibility to drive in the UK and access to a car for work purposes with business insurance(or able to demonstrate other means of fulfilling this aspect of the role)
