Job Summary

The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) is a part of the Ministry of Defence responsible for the procurement, in-service support, and disposal of the UK’s nuclear submarines. Our work is of unparalleled strategic importance nationally and internationally, ensuring the security of the UK’s continuous at-sea nuclear deterrent (CASD), and delivering some of the most technically complex programmes in defence. At least one of four nuclear-armed submarines, supported by smaller attack submarines, is on patrol at all times: 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Information Support Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will provide accurate and timely administrative support to a wide variety of end-users, receiving and processing requests, checking against best-practice and relevant policies and procedures to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA).

You’ll be working onsite at BAE Systems, Barrow, interacting regularly with varied stakeholders in a complex, fast-moving environment. Our team is a valued part of the business providing excellent technical support to users.

Due to this being a front-facing customer faced role, this post is office-based with some flexibility where business needs allow.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate, encourage knowledge sharing and communicate effectively with stakeholders and use KIM techniques to derive maximum value for the business from information and knowledge.
  • Acquire, create and manage knowledge, records and information throughout its life-cycle to support the business effectively.
  • Support the management of information risks and ensure compliance of Information Governance.
  • Action permission requests, asset management, account services, basic information workspace administration.
  • Action customer requests to agreed service standards.
  • Develop own understanding of processes and procedures that apply to Information Management.
  • Support the requirements capture and build of information solutions to agreed standards.
  • Provide initial front-line support to customers including service catalogue requests.

Hybrid and flexible working can be considered for this post but will need regular workplace attendance due to security constraints. Candidates are encouraged to discuss options with the recruiting line manager before submitting an application.

Person specification

An awareness of Knowledge & Information Management and Records Management will be required, alongside strong organisational skills.

Good knowledge of customer service.

Experience of Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint.

At the SDA, we champion flexible ways of working. Regular in-person attendance (this is expected to be a minimum of 60% depending on business needs) to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your role.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
