Pharmacy Assistant (BAND 2)
HMP BERWYN, WREXHAM, NORTH WALES
37.5 HOURS PER WEEK
THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO MATERNITY COVER

This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of delivering pharmacy services within a prison, in partnership with the Prison Lead Pharmacist and His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Services (HMPPS). Opened in February 2017 this Category C male training prison, with a remand facility, has a capacity of 2,106. Within the healthcare facility there is a fully automated pharmacy department.

Working as a Pharmacy Assistant your duties will include:

- ordering and stocking of the pharmacy with consumables
- receiving deliveries to pharmacy
- supply of medication to dispensaries in the houseblocks
- receptionist duties
- administration duties

- NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services or willingness to undertake and achieve NVQ Level 2 within 12 months of appointment.
Desirable criteria
- Pharmacy experience Prison experience.
