We are recruiting for an Ophthalmic Technician who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
To work as part of the ophthalmic team, delivering an unsupervised, high quality technical and specialist service. Performing visual assessments including visual acuity, visual fields, measuring intra ocular pressure. The post holder will learn how to interpret the test and report to the senior staff. (KSF Dimension HWB5 Level 1)
To work within all clinical areas of ophthalmology including day-care surgery, outpatient clinics across all three sites, to work within the intravitreal injection service supporting the injectors and some administrative tasks.
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families (KSF Dimension 5 Level 1)
To be based at Lister Treatment Centre and to also cover sessions at New QEII and Hertford County. Allowed 30 mins travel between sites.

Performing multiple visual assessments, learning how to interpret the test and report to the senior staff.
Achieve knowledge and skills in ophthalmology with the support of the team.
To work within the intravitreal injection service supporting the patients and injectors, from admission through to discharge.
To work within the ophthalmology team on the day care ward admitting and preparing patients for surgery through to their discharge.
To process patients through the outpatient clinic sessions working with the registered nurses and wider ophthalmic team.
Assist with clerical and administrative duties as required.
Maintain regular contact with the senior team member and communicate all relevant issues.
