We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our team as a Partnership Assistant – Energy. In this role, you’ll support the work of Energy Capital, a collaborative partnership driving delivery of the West Midlands Regional Energy Strategy.
This is an exciting chance to work across sectors by helping partners share knowledge, coordinate their efforts, and collectively tackle the region’s most pressing energy and net zero challenges.
This role is being offered as a fixed term contract until 30th June 2026.
What you’ll be doing.
In this role, you’ll support the coordination and delivery of Energy Capital’s work by:
- Supporting collaborative projects and managing day-to-day partnership activity
- Gathering insights from regional partners and identifying opportunities for greater impact
- Sharing research, analysis, and regional intelligence to shape strategy and delivery
- Organising stakeholder events and preparing newsletters and communications
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting website updates and outreach activity
What’s essential.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Can organise and prioritise their workload effectively
- Has experience maintaining accurate records and managing information
- Can communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences
- Is confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels
- Has a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Can balance multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- Has an interest in or understanding of net zero, energy systems, or climate policy
- Experience in event coordination, stakeholder engagement, or partnership working would be a real bonus.
Our Recruitment Process.

You will also be asked to complete a short task. We will use this task to complete our shortlisting process and let you know whether you’ll be invited to an interview.
Task details:
Write a short report or produce a short presentation (approximately 1 page report or 5-minute presentation) summarising the approach you would take to organising engagement events with our stakeholders.
We would like you to consider:
- How would you use our existing events schedule to accommodate new stakeholders?
- How would you ensure stakeholders felt able to interact with and influence the Energy Capital team?
- How would you ensure that engagement was of value to the Energy Capital team?

Location.
The location for this role is Summer Lane with at least 2 days a week spent in the office.

We advertise salary ranges, with new appointments typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate.
