We’re on the hunt for an Sr. Systems/AIT Test and Verification Engineer

MDA-UK is looking for an AIT Test and Verification Engineer to work on the next generation of 5G NTN satellite systems. In this position, you will be responsible for the all phase of the test cycle including the preparation of test procedures, and test cases, execution of test and report generation. Working closely with other teams to ensure the UUT meets the customer requirements and to ensure its quality is of the correct standard.

You will work closely with various systems engineering groups internally and externally to the business, building a robust and informative trade analysis with a clear and well-structured set of conclusions and recommendations, including ground infrastructure, payload solutions and technology trade-offs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform integration and conformance testing 5G elements of the UUT
  • Perform electrical integration of the unit under test (UUT) to test benches / test equipment.
  • Produce test plans / procedures from test specifications to ensure requirements are met and verified.
  • Perform functional and performance testing.
  • Create automated test scripts to control / test the UUT and the supporting electrical ground support equipment (EGSE).
  • Produce technical reports after test execution.
  • Prepare for and support environmental test campaigns including thermal vacuum, vibration, acoustics and EMC.
  • Define test equipment requirements.
  • Raise, manage and support non-conformances in the review process.
  • Provide inputs to project reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Post Test Review & Test Review Boards

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Maths or Physics. Master’s degree
  • A proven knowledge of testing processes, cycles and approaches
  • A good working knowledge of the 5G NR and NB-IoT radio stacks and the ecosystem of technologies implementing it and the corresponding standards (e.g., ORAN and Small Cell Forum)
  • Experience of performing 3GPP base station conformance testing
  • Understanding of the 5G core network
  • Experience operating 5G test equipment and executing test
  • Experience with working with and configuring Linux based systems including shell commanding
  • 3+ years of experience in communications system engineering
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, management, and peers

Experience in the space industry, 5G NTN, phased array antennas and on-board processing technology is also desirable.
