Position Purpose
The International Payroll Manager will oversee and manage the payroll function for employees outside the United States, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, tax compliance, and other related activities. The position requires leadership, analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of payroll regulations. The International Payroll Manager is an integral part of the Global Total Rewards team and will take the lead in aligning international pay practices.

Position Purpose
The International Payroll Manager will oversee and manage the payroll function for employees outside the United States, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, tax compliance, and other related activities. The position requires leadership, analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of payroll regulations. The International Payroll Manager is an integral part of the Global Total Rewards team and will take the lead in aligning international pay practices.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the international payroll processes, including coordination of pay cycles, payroll calculations, tax compliance, and reporting in compliance with international laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement international payroll systems, policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with local laws and best practices.
- Collaborate with regional People and Finance teams to streamline and standardise international payroll processes, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payroll approvals.
- Stay updated on changes in international payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements, and ensure the organisation's payroll practices remain compliant and up to date in all applicable jurisdictions.
- Prepare and analyse global payroll reports, providing insights into payroll costs, trends, and compliance metrics for management.
- Address and resolve employee inquiries and concerns regarding international payroll matters, ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with regional requirements.
- Reconcile international payroll accounts, collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting, and manage the intercompany transfer of payroll data.
- Lead year-end payroll processes for international operations, including statutory reporting and compliance with each jurisdiction's tax requirements.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and local service providers to facilitate international payroll processing and related services, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and service level expectations.
- Lead due diligence efforts in merger and acquisition related to international payroll, including local regulations, vendors and processes.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance global payroll processes to optimise efficiency, accuracy, and scalability as the company expands its international presence.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent international certification preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of international payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements across multiple countries and regions.
- Familiarity with the implementation of international payroll software and technology platforms.
- Adaptable - able to work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
