Finance Manager (Business Partner)
Working Days: 3 days a week
Salary: £42,900-48,000
Purpose of the role:
To manage the day-to-day financial operations of the charity, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective support to internal teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports in line with organisational needs.
- Maintain compliance with the Charity SORP and support the preparation of statutory accounts.
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to support decision-making by senior leadership.
- Coordinate the annual audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules and liaison with external auditors.
- Support HR with payroll.
- Oversee invoicing and Gift Aid claims.
- Manage credit control, working closely with Practice Management and the Income Generation Manager.
- Manage the relationship with the outsourced bookkeeping provider, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Monitor income and expenditure, ensuring effective cost control and reconciliation of accounts.
- Support department heads with financial queries, budget monitoring, and training as needed.
- Ensure compliance with financial and fundraising regulations, including Companies House and HMRC requirements.
- Maintain internal controls and support internal assurance processes.

Required skills and experience:
Education
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or relevant experience.
Experience
- Experience in charity finance and knowledge of SORP.
- Xero
- Approval Max
- MS packages
Skills and abilities
- Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
