As part of the FP&A team in the Recycle Loop, you’ll be responsible for providing key management information, analysis and reporting to stakeholders at all levels of the business to support data-driven decision making. You will also have a key role in the financial planning processes, including annual budgeting and more regular reforecasts. Measuring business performance and outlining key variances will be a fundamental duty for the position holder to help drive business performance.


This role is suited to a part-qualified accountant who is actively studying, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI, along with some knowledge of SQL. Strong communication skills are essential to convey key insights and translate numerical information for a diverse audience.


Key Responsibilities And Duties

  • Assist with the production of monthly divisional performance packs.
  • Support the business planning process which will include forecasts, annual budgets and regular re-forecasting.
  • Maintain and track performance against KPIs.
  • Produce variance analysis. Investigate and communicate the key drivers of reported variances.
  • Maintain and improve regular reporting processes with a view to automate where possible.
  • Assist with the expansion of current reporting across the Recycle division.
  • Provide management information to support decision making and drive business performance.
  • Support the preparation of data and reports for monthly performance review processes.
  • Contribute to the development of new processes and systems within FP&A and the wider Finance function.
  • Participate in modelling and scenario building to investigate or challenge business proposals and initiatives.


Person Specification

  • Part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA), actively studying.
  • 1-3 years experience working in a FP&A/finance role with knowledge of financial statements, (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow).
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables and Power Query. Some knowledge of VBA would be beneficial too.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI/data visualisation tools.
  • Comfortable handling large and complex data sets. Experience of data extraction (SQL) would be desirable.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain and simplify complex issues.
  • Great attention to detail is key.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and engage with new systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Additional Job Information

  • Benefit from a hybrid working model with the flexibility to work 2-3 days per week from home, with the remaining days based in our Telford office.
