Job Summary
The post holder is responsible for overseeing and actively enforcing the statutory compliant disclosure of personal data for serving RN/RM personnel, veterans and other third parties in accordance with provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA18), Common Law and the Human Rights Act 1998 (HRA). The data range managed is extensive covering the period 1929 up to the present day and compasses physical documents, electronic data and microfiche held in various physical locations. The post is to oversee and manage an administrative regime and processes that delivers legally compliant disclosure of personal data to serving, veteran, and other third-parties. Additionally, they are to oversee and maintain a robust and auditable process to identify, retrieve and legally disclose personal data within statutory timescales.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

- Process Subject Access Requests (SAR’s) and Post Service Requests (PSR’s) on a daily basis in accordance with the GDPR/DPA18 and Human Rights Act to ensure (i) legal compliance (ii) meet the statutory processing deadlines of 28 calendar days.
- Receive, scrutinise and disseminate incoming correspondence (letters/e-mails) from customers daily including:
- Individuals
- Families, ie Next of Kin
- Third Parties-Police, Other Government Departments, Employment Agencies, Solicitors, Credit Agencies, Welfare Organisations, Embassies.
