The Role:

As an Operational Auditor, you’ll play an important part in ensuring excellence across our branch network. The Operational Auditor will join our auditing team, conducting branch audits across our merchanting and retail business to identify and communicate risks to the company. The Operational Auditor will be responsible for auditing 180 plus branches across the southern regions. There will be regular travel involved, and a company car is provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct branch operational audits (KCR & RAR) as determined by the Annual Audit Plan and the Operation Audit - Branch ‘Key Control Review’ Selection process
  • Collate operations audit reports and communicate effectively with operational management over issues that have been identified
  • Undertake field work, when required, for Audit topical reviews
  • Undertake special investigations / projects, as specified by the Audit Manager and report the findings & recommendations to senior management
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with management across different business brands, ensuring that a “can do” professional approach is conveyed always
  • Aid with the mentoring and development of team colleagues
  • Control, maintain records and communicate the Branch ‘Self Assessment’ selection process, to ensure all branches complete a ‘Key Control - Branch Self Assessment’ annually
  • Produce, filter, analyse and risk assess the back-up data required to complete Audits

This is a field-based role with regional travel to branches across the South region, and ad-hoc travel into our head office in Crick. Consequently you must be based in the UK and a company car is provided

This role would suit someone who has experience working as an Operational Auditor, experience working within a Branch, or someone completely new to the industry but can demonstrate the ability to learn quickly

Skills and competencies

  • Full UK Driving License (clean)
  • Experience in a multi site business
  • Educated to a minimum GCSE (or equivalent) standard in English and Maths
  • Superb communication skills, able to digest information and present to the audience in an understandable way
  • A team player who always looks to go above and beyond

It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services: Branch Auditor, Compliance Auditor, Compliance Validation, Internal Auditor, Operational Auditor, Retail Auditor
