A well-established, purpose-built veterinary practice in Quarrington is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated team. The practice boasts an excellent client base, a supportive and experienced team, and outstanding facilities including five consulting rooms, separate dog and cat wards, and fully equipped operating theatres with the latest technology such as ECG, in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, dentistry equipment, and ultrasound.

This role offers the opportunity to lead clinical care within a busy, varied caseload environment and work within a practice that supports professional development through nurse and vet training programmes.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients through consultations and procedures
  • Provide clear, compassionate updates and support to clients
  • Maintain the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance
  • Prepare accurate client estimates and manage payments efficiently
  • Work closely with practice management to maximise commercial performance and key performance indicators
  • Mentor, engage, and develop clinical and support staff, utilising coaching and leadership skills
  • Inspire and motivate the team by sharing updates on evolving clinical practices and processes
  • Ensure smooth clinical handovers and coordinate patient care outside of regular hours as needed
  • Promote and share clinical best practices within the practice and across wider networks


Candidate Requirements:

  • Registered Veterinary Surgeon with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
  • Proven clinical leadership skills and experience
  • Strong track record in delivering high-quality care to both patients and clients
  • A deep understanding of how exceptional care enhances client experience
  • Experience in implementing a progressive clinical culture and delivering commercial results
  • Effective team player with excellent coaching and influencing skills
