Raigmore Hospital Acute Adult ANP service is currently recruiting for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Acute Stroke service on a 2 year fixed term contract/ secondment.

Full or part time hours are available to be worked across Monday to Friday.

Main Duties

  • Supporting the ward based Stroke team with daily patient reviews, ward rounds, MTD and complex discharge planning.
  • Support the Senior Stroke ANP/Stroke Consultant with daily Acute Stroke reviews within the hospital
  • Support and drive forward stroke specific quality improvements locally and nationally.
  • Contribute to the delivery of educational programmes within stroke and wider MDT networks
  • Opportunity to attend Stroke Thrombolysis calls and attend Neurovascular clinics.

Our well established service consists of 25 qualified ANPs and a number of trainee ANPs, in addition we have a team of Assistant Practitioners who support the Medical and ANP workforce. Our service covers hospital at night, general surgery, trauma + orthopaedics and medicine including ambulatory emergency care. The ANP team supports the deteriorating patient work-stream across Raigmore Hospital providing vital leadership, teaching, quality improvement and audit opportunities which enable our Practitioners to achieve the four pillars of practice.

You must have completed an NHS Highland approved advanced clinical assessment and history taking module at degree level and also be registered with the NMC as a non-medical prescriber (V300) and have significant experience working in acute inpatient services at advanced practice level. There will be a requirement to work a combination of long and short shifts across 7 days including weekends. An attractive relocation package of up to £8,000 may be available to eligible successful candidates.
