The Role
Provide domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire, (NHSL) premises through the use of effective and efficient methods, which deliver a ‘safe’ and welcoming environment and meet the required NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI )standards.
To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Please note the fixed term post is for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Domestic Services within University Hospital Wishaw.
The working pattern for both positions: All positions are for 19.8 hours, any shift pattern between 6am to 3pm or 3pm to 10pm Monday to Friday.

What we'll need you to bring
- Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
- Required to undertake on the job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked ), to achieve full competency across a range of duties
- Working knowledge Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks
- Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
- Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards
- Undertake and complete NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
It would be great if you also have
- Recognised SVQ or equivalent relevant qualification
- Experience working within a domestic services/cleaning environment
- Knowledge of systems and processes eg HAI; Manual Handling; Management of Aggression; Infection Control; COSHH; Fire Safety
- Use of range of electrical cleaning equipment
- Willing to learn
- Ability to work under pressure
