This is an exciting opportunity to join the Ophthalmology Outpatient Team within the National Treatment Centre Highlands (NTC-H)

The NTC-H is a new purpose-built facility on the Inverness Campus receiving all NHS Highland Ophthalmology patients as well as specific Orthopaedic patients who meet the criteria to be operated on within the NTC-H

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Nursing Assistant for the Ophthalmology Outpatients Department, NTC-H.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the multidisciplinary team, you will be required to assist registered nurses, medical staff, orthoptists and optometrists in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care, with and without direct supervision, appropriately ensuring effective use of available resources and knowledge.

Ideally, you would already be working in a health care or an ophthalmology setting with experience of measuring visual acuity, focimetery, visual fields and OCT/ophthalmic imaging.

While this experience is desirable it is not essential as training will be given.

The successful candidate will have to work effectively and flexibly in a pressurised clinical environment. The department is open: Monday to Friday 08:00-18.00. We are also open for Casualty Clinics at weekends and public holidays, whereby you may be expected to work 1 or 2 weekend shifts a month.
