We’re Hiring: Training & Development Advisor – Hybrid (Maidenhead or Chipping Sodbury) Salary: £35,000 – £39,800 | Hybrid Working

Are you passionate about people development and continuous learning? We’re looking for a proactive Training & Development Advisor to support the delivery of our company-wide training strategy (excluding Health & Safety), helping us build skills, drive engagement, and support our teams across the business.

In this role, you will:

Manage the delivery of our non-H&S training programme, ensuring timely execution against the agreed training plan and KPIs

Partner with managers and employees to support ad hoc training needs and provide development guidance

Oversee and optimise systems that support learning and development initiatives

Coordinate our annual Employee Survey in line with the business plan

Analyse survey results, support stakeholder action planning, and report on progress at business level

Key Accountabilities

Training management

  • Ensure that training requests are collated, reviewed, authorized by the appropriate person and allocated to the appropriate training providers. Where providers do not have access to the scheduling tool, the administration is completed by the training coordinator.
  • Provide coordination and administration for the scheduling and booking of courses and for issuing joining instructions and training certification for all non H&S training by liaising with external and internal training providers.
  • Maximise occupancy and cost efficiency of all trainings delivering to targeted occupancy KPI targets
  • Respond to training queries from the business.
  • Advise on training solutions for individuals and groups of employees.
  • Investigate ad hoc requests and provide details of relevant courses and providers as appropriate.
  • Provide Talent coordinator information on training requests which can potentially utilize Levy funded training
  • Periodically liaise with stakeholders to review and update the induction for employees and managers


Training provider management

  • Maintain regular contact with key training providers to ensure training provision and service levels meet expectations.
  • Manage applications for Derby University, and ensure communication and engagement of (and with) students is maintained
  • Source appropriate providers to meet routine & ad-hoc training needs and complete the RFQ process
  • GDPR – making sure training providers are compliant with the Heidelberg Materials process, logging and tracking communication responses from providers
  • Ensure training provider contracts are in place and up to date.


Finance

  • Process training and other T&D related purchase orders, processing payments against activity and monitoring costs on a monthly basis against budget. Follow up with relevant department to resolve or establish reason for unexpected costs. Report issues or variances between actual and expected costs in the T&D cost code accounts to T&D manager.
  • Investigate and apply for external funding from appropriate bodies
  • Address and resolve any invoice and payment issues by liaising with accounts payable and providers
  • Work with the T&D manager to create the department budget and provide detail for forecasting as required


Data management and analysis

  • Collate appropriate management information to support regular reviews and feedback on training
  • ROI-Provide ROI and reports on training statistics, KPIs and other relevant information as required.
  • Review competency evaluation results to identify training and development requirements for individuals and groups.
  • Work with talent advisor to support the identification of trends for development items and plans in Workday
  • Provide data templates and/or analysis for PDR process, early talent recruitment, foreseeable vacancies and any other areas as requested
  • Provide training activity reports on a monthly basis. Identify areas for concern and highlight these with recommended action to the T&D Manager.


Systems

  • System superuser for Pathway , WD learning and WD Talent.
  • Identify and manage system development for Pathway in conjunction with key stakeholders
  • Support system development, testing and recommendations for improvements in Pathway and Workday
  • Ensure users are fully trained on systems ensuring that relevant functionality is available and maximised by the various user groups. i.e managers, employees, internal trainers, HRBPs etc
  • Manage and assist with system testing as required
  • Project manage system development as required
  • Provide guidance and support to the business on related systems as required


Training matrices

  • Ensure training matrices are maintained.
  • Hold regular reviews with key stakeholders to ensure matrices are up to date to deliver the business strategy and legal requirements
  • Provide support to identify any gaps in training provision and support as required to identify relevant providers/provision


Training catalogue

  • Ensure trainings available meet the non H&S skills and knowledge gaps identified through performance evaluation against competencies , training matrix requirements and employee skills or knowledge required to deliver the business strategy
  • Ensure maximum use is made of elearning available through the Skills Boosters catalogue making recommendations to subject matter experts on additional trainings not currently used to support induction, ad hoc training releases, matrix training or meeting individual needs of employees.


Employee survey

  • Project manage the preparation, roll-out and running of the employee survey, and ensure communications continue post-survey with results and action planning
  • Support the business to maintain communications, identify actions and develop and deliver action plans to meet survey results improvements. Liaise with key stakeholders to collate and monitor progress against action plans.


Administration

  • Ensure that course details and descriptions are kept up to date in all systems.
  • Ensure letters of congratulations are compiled and sent for relevant course completions or to the CEO to send
  • Provide general administrative support to the Head of talent and development
  • Maintain, review and update Employee Digital Handbook – conduct stakeholder reviews to ensure the information and links are maintained and up to date.
  • Liaise with Group, MPQC and other stakeholders to provide data as required


Communication

  • Ensure that the L&D/talent and engagement section of the intranet is kept up to date with relevant information.
  • Ensure employees and managers are kept up to date with courses and trainings available
  • Provide regular PR stories on areas of responsibility for internal/external communication in conjunction with PR/marketing


Education

  • Preferably a university degree
  • 3 years solid experience in human resource administration including use of human resource management systems (HRMS).
  • Studying towards CIPD qualification (preferred)
