Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking to appoint two full time Learning Support Assistants to join our friendly and supportive staff team from 8.30am-3.15pm, five days a week, term-time only. The role will involve enabling access to learning for all pupils and assisting the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. The work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area. This will include supporting children with Special Educational Needs and may be in any year group within the primary school. You will reflect and evaluate your own performance, achievements, strengths and weaknesses, using best practice benchmarks.

Salary: Grade 3 £24,027 - £24,404 FTE / £17,093 - £17,361 actual
Contract Type: Temporary until July 2026
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 8.30-3.15pm (term time only)
Location: Durrington Infant and Junior School. Worthing
Interviews: Thursday 26th June
What You Need to Succeed
The successful candidates will:
- Have English and Maths qualification to at least level 2 of the National Qualification Framework.
- Have experience of supporting children’s learning.
- Have experience of supporting individuals/ groups of children with specific learning difficulties.
- Be flexible and adaptable
- Be committed and keen to work as part of a team.
