Production Planner

W Talent are proud to be working exclusively with a well-established, medium-sized manufacturing business in Rotherham who are looking to recruit a Production Planner. This is a fantastic opportunity for a planner to join a precision engineering environment and play a key role in driving efficiency, on-time delivery, and operational performance.

The Role:

As Production Planner, you will be located in Rotheham responsible for coordinating machining and manufacturing schedules to meet customer demand and internal targets. You will work closely with production, engineering, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure accurate planning and smooth workflow across the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain production schedules in line with customer orders and capacity.
• Plan machining operations and manage priorities across the shop floor.
• Liaise with purchasing and stores to ensure material availability.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans to resolve bottlenecks or delays.
• Update and manage ERP/MRP systems with accurate planning data.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and sales.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Report on KPIs related to planning performance, stock levels, and on-time delivery.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Production Planner or Scheduler in a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally machining-based.
• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and planning processes.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing demands.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• High attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is desirable.

The Offer:

This is a days-based role offering a competitive salary of £30,000 to £35,000 located in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
