The successful individual will be employed as a fixed wing Test Pilot (TP) and will be required to work primarily from Cambridge – remote working is available.
A significant part of MA Flight Test activity is conducting post-maintenance test flights on various marks of C130. MA Flight Test also conduct modification flight trials as well as experimental and certification test programmes on C130 and other platforms. MA Flight Test also provide Flight Test services to industry and the military, as well as providing SME advice across the company and beyond.
Responsibilities:
Flight trials planning, preparation, conduct and management
Delivering the Flight Test flying programme
Acting as project TP for a variety of programmes
Providing SME advice across MA and externally as required
Update and maintenance of MA Flight Test regulatory documentation both Civil and Military
Work with MA Crew Training Post Holder to maintain MA flight crew qualifications, competencies and currency.
Contributing to ASMS activity as required.
Representing CTP as required
Essential Qualification:
• Graduate Fixed Wing Test Pilot
Essential Requirements
• Experience of a range of flight test projects (minimum 3 years in TP role).
• Demonstrable knowledge of fixed wing aircraft performance, handling qualities and systems.
• Working knowledge of UK Military Aviation Authority regulations and UK CAA/EASA regulation pertaining to flight test (CS25, Part 21J).
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Hold/able to gain minimum UK CPL with Class 1 TP rating.
• Medically fit to gain/hold UK CAA Class 1 Medical.
• Able to meet the normal security requirements of MA personnel.
• Team player with excellent inter-personal skills.
• Flexibility to meet the needs of the role.
Highly Desirable criteria
• Experienced C130J test pilot – aircraft last flown within 2 years
• UK CAA Airline Transport Pilotâ€s Licence (ATPL) with Instrument Rating (IR) and Class 1 TP rating.
Desirable Criteria
• Wide experience of flight test including software trials.
• Instructional experience/rating.
• Current or previous qualification on legacy C130 models (B,H,K)
• In current flying practice (at least 50 hrs in the previous 12 months) with recency in a test flying role.
